Education Mental Health Practitioner
My name is Jess Hudson and I am an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) based at Walsden St Peter's Primary School on Wednesdays. I am part of the Calderdale Mental Health Support Team, a team of practitioners who are based within some Calderdale schools. We offer support around mental health and emotional well being. we sit within Northpoint Wellbeing who also provide the child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) via the Open Minds Partnership.
My role within school consists of three functions:
- to deliver evidence based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues
- to support the school to develop their whole school approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing
- to advise the school and liaise with external specialist services to help pupils get the right support and stay in education
